WHO IS VAUGHAN?
That handsome devil over there in the cowboy hat.
He's humble too...
I’m just a guy trying to make my way in this world, hoping to bring a smile or two to the people I meet along the way.
Entertaining has been a passion of mine all my life. Whether that be through the performing arts, video content, digital art and of course writing literature. I enjoy it all. As far as writing stories goes, I've been doing that since I was 8 years old ...from which I would like to think I've improved.
I very much like to write stories of the fantasy genre, especially with swords and sorcery of the like. Though I do have a fondness for wild westerns and alternative realities with a long list of ideas in my pocket that fall under other categories as well.
As far as style goes, I mostly like to take a light hearted whimsical approach to writing, whilst leaving plenty of room for serious moments and topics where necessary. Like comedy and tragedy, two sides of the same coin.
Fiction is fun to me and I want to write fun stories, but I do also have a few darker, more serious tales up my sleeve. My goal is to explore ideas across many genres and make them as entertaining for the reader as possible. Creativity is limitless and it'd be a shame to put a limit on my own.
When it comes to inspiration, well it hits different people in different ways. Coming from the animation, arts, games and gaming industry, a lot of my inspiration comes not from visual media, but the depth of lore behind them. I quite enjoyed reading "The Infernal City" and "Lord of Souls" novels both by Gregory Keyes, set in the world of The Elder Scrolls for instance. But another read I enjoyed was "The Iron Trial" by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare, which has no connection to games what so ever. I think I just like fantasy books.

Aside from books, I think life itself has a certain element of absurdity to it that deserves written recognition. There's no better inspiration for entertainment than every day life and the people in it. The world is a stage after all.
Professionally I have a degree in Interactive Entertainment (Major in Animation, Minor in Game Design) where I graduated with an award for "Most Creative Student." I learnt quite a bit more about the fundamentals of storytelling from that than I would have thought. But there's always room to learn more and I've delved further into online learning and try to learn something new every day.
Outside of my literary pursuits, my hobbies include casually running a gaming channel on YouTube with 500+ Subscribers where I play all sorts of weird and wonderful games. A lot of the time indie games where I get to see all sorts of creativity and inspiration come to life. But gaming in general with friends off camera is where I spend a lot of my down time.
Otherwise, I enjoy drawing both digitally and traditionally and am fortunate enough to sustain myself through a profession of graphic design. In fact, most, if not all of the artwork (unless credited) on this site is drawn by me.
Anyway, that's me, myself and I! Thank you for taking some time to read about me. May life be fruitful and kind. Happy reading!
